Gum Arabic (Talha)
Gum arabic from Acacia seyal, a versatile, cost-effective grade for food and industry.
Overview
Talha is the second commercial type of gum arabic. It forms naturally on the Acacia seyal tree, which grows widely across Sudan's central and eastern clay plains, and it is collected without tapping.
Talha tears are more brittle than Hashab and darker in colour, and they usually break into smaller pieces. It is widely used in food, confectionery and industrial applications where a cost-effective gum arabic is needed.
