Gum Arabic (Hashab)
Premium gum arabic from Acacia senegal, the world's reference emulsifier (E414).
Overview
Hashab is the finest gum arabic. It is tapped from the Acacia senegal tree: collectors make small cuts in the bark, and the sap slowly seeps out and hardens in the dry season into pale, glassy tears.
Kordofan Hashab has long set the benchmark for quality. It dissolves completely in water, has an excellent emulsifying power and a mild taste, which is why beverage, confectionery and pharmaceutical makers specify it.
