Quality & process

From the acacia tree to the ship's hold, every step is designed to deliver clean, consistent and safe products.

Quality is not negotiable

Exporting natural products means paying attention to detail at every stage. Our quality programme starts where the product is collected and follows each lot all the way to the destination port.

  1. Sourcing

We buy from trusted collectors and traders in the gum belt and in Sudan's main farming regions, and check each intake.

  2. Cleaning & sorting

Bark, sand and foreign matter are removed by hand and machine; lots are sorted by colour and size.

  3. Grading

Gum is graded into hand-picked, cleaned, siftings and dust grades; crops are graded to the agreed specification.

  4. Testing

Samples are tested for moisture, impurities and the parameters in the buyer's specification.

  5. Packing

Packed in new, clean polypropylene or jute bags, labelled with product, grade, lot and weight.

  6. Storage

Stored dry and ventilated, off the ground and away from contamination until loading.

  7. Loading

Containers are inspected before stuffing and loaded under supervision.

  8. Shipping

Shipped from Port Sudan with the full set of export documents.

Our quality checks

We run these checks again and again as each lot moves through the chain:

  • Sampling and inspection at intake
  • Checks after cleaning and sorting
  • Packing and labelling checks
  • Storage conditions and hygiene checks
  • Container and transport checks
  • Export document checks

Buyers may appoint any international inspection company to supervise loading and issue an inspection certificate.

A supply chain built for reliability

We keep evaluating our supply chain to save our customers time and money and to make sure the product is there when it is needed.

We work with our sources to solve problems that could affect quality or volume, review our storage and transport, and listen to our partners' feedback.
